Hey Family,
It sounds like you guys had a great 4th of July! I was definitely thinking about you all, and thinking back on memories! Elder Mikesell said he has been to the Kaysville parade a couple times and we were talking about getting slaughtered by the fire trucks every time! Haha that's awesome that you guys brought a cooler full of ice water! I miss going to Shelly's and hanging out with the cousins and playing sports and stuff. Who is the guy that Whit is dating??
Anyways, this week was really good! Damion got baptized on Saturday and confirmed on Sunday! The baptism went really well and he was able to bear his testimony afterwards which was awesome! Him and Rhianna got to go up to the podium after his confirmation and they were both welcomed into the ward together! It was really cool for them and for Elder Mikesell and I! I forgot to bring my camera today so I will send pictures next week haha sorry. We weren't able to meet with the Nava's or the Scott's this week but we did get a couple new investigators and they are all from members which is awesome! One of them is Josh who has a very rare form of cancer. He had asked a member of our ward for a blessing, which is cool because he is actually atheist. So the member invited us over for the blessing and we were able to talk to him and teach him about the Restoration. It went really well and he said he has had some things happen in his life lately that are telling him that God is there and that he is watching out for him! It was awesome to be able to help him recognize that! We are going to be meeting with him tomorrow and hopefully he will continue to progress! We also taught another lady named Clarissa! She helps clean the house of one of the members in our ward and one day she was just asking the member about God and what she believes and stuff, and they talked about it and the member ended up giving her a Book of Mormon, and asking her if she wanted to meet with the missionaries. She accepted and we were able to teach her the Restoration and invite her to baptism. She said yes to being baptized but we weren't able to set a date with her because we found out that she doesn't actually live in our area. But we were able to find out a little bit about her life and she was homeless with her boyfriend for a while and she has had a lot of hardships in her life, but she testified that she knows that God has helped her through all of it. It really is amazing to see how the Lord truly does prepare people to hear our message! Hopefully the missionaries in the ward that she is in will take good care of her!
Anyways, I love being able to teach and testify to people of what I know to be true, and to help people experience the best thing that can happen in their lives! I love you all and hope all is well! Talk to you next week!
Love Elder Summerhays
